At Richards Motorcars, we take a different approach when it comes to pricing our vehicles. Unlike many dealers, we do not use inflated retail pricing guides such as Kelley Blue Book (KBB), NADA, or Black Book to determine our vehicle prices. These guides often reflect values that are higher than what the market actually demands.
How We Price Our Vehicles
We utilize Current Market Value Pricing, meaning we:
- Monitor real-time retail and wholesale prices in the New & Preowned automobile market
- Base our pricing on supply and demand
- Adjust our prices daily to reflect similar vehicles within a 200-mile radius
What This Means for You
- We guarantee the best deal for a vehicle of comparable quality
- We invite you to show us a clean-history, comparable vehicle priced lower than ours — and we’ll match or beat it!
Trade-In Philosophy
We welcome trade-ins and use the same market-based approach to evaluate your vehicle as we do when pricing our own inventory.
How We Value Your Trade-In
- We use real-time wholesale market data (auction values), not inflated Blue Book estimates
- We’re transparent and happy to show you current market value reports
- If your trade is low mileage, in great condition, and has a clean history, we’ll offer you a higher trade-in value
- If your vehicle has high mileage, poor condition, or a damaged history report, we’ll base the offer on what it would fetch at auction
Note: If you’re looking to get full retail value for your trade-in, we recommend selling it privately.
We’re not here to “lowball” you — we aim to make the trade-in process fair, honest, and transparent for both parties.
